The Tanjong Katong Complex is set for a significant transformation following the awarding of a $90 million redevelopment tender to Jun Jie Development Pte Ltd., a subsidiary of Elegant Group. This redevelopment initiative was launched in October 2024 and attracted three bids, with Jun Jie Development ultimately selected for its community-centric proposal. The project aims to revitalize the complex into a vibrant hub that prioritizes community engagement and inclusivity.
One of the centerpiece features of the redevelopment is the conceptualization of a “Community Spine,” designed to seamlessly connect various elements within the complex, including retail, communal, and green spaces. This spine will facilitate pedestrian movement and foster interactions among visitors, thereby enhancing the overall experience.
A multipurpose rooftop community deck is also planned, which will serve as an inviting space for events, gatherings, and leisure activities. Additionally, a food garden is envisioned to promote the local culinary scene, offering fresh produce and a platform for food-related community activities.
